WHO WE ARE
Healdsburg Forever is an impactful source for good. We capture the collective generosity in our community, and elevate the capacity of and impact made by our local nonprofit organizations.
Healdsburg Forever fund has granted $2.9 million to local nonprofit organizations since its inception in 2003. This fund is held at the Community Foundation Sonoma County serves the greater Healdsburg area including the surrounding communities of Geyserville, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and parts of the Russian River Valley.
Thanks to the success of our 2023 Power of Collective Giving Campaign, Healdsburg Forever will grant $400,000 to local nonprofits in 2024!
HISTORY
2003
A group of community minded residents formed an initiative to ensure there would be a lasting resource devoted to supporting quality of life in the Healdsburg and Geyserville communities.
The Healdsburg Area Fund (now Healdsburg Forever) was formed as a Fund at Community Foundation of Sonoma County (CFSC).
An anonymous donor offered a $500,000 matching grant to build an Endowment fund over the next three years.
2004-2019
- $20,000 awarded in grants 2004
- $100,000 awarded in grants in 2014
- $190,000 awarded in grants in 2019
- $1.3 million awarded in grants between 2004 and 2019
- The Healdsburg Forever Endowment Fund grew to $1.6 million
Throughout this time period, Healdsburg Forever continued to shift priorities and focus to respond to the shifting needs of the community.
- During the 2009-13 recession, we helped keep the nonprofit doors open.
- 2011-2017 grants were made to incubate new nonprofits, and continue to respond to ever pressing local needs.
- 2017-2019 grants were focused on general operations and the crisis response to the wildfires.
2020-2023
Covid-19 and the wildfires hit our community especially hard. In response Healdsburg Forever:
- Provided two rounds of emergency grants in 2020 totaling $120,000 to 8 organizations providing critical services.
- Launched the Community Impact up to 40% off Fund with a challenge grant from the CFSC and raised $300,000 in 2021 and $445,000 in 2022
- Awarded a total of $1,210,000 (39 grants) in 2020-2023
